Sawako Harada began studying the piano at the age of five. Since then, she has distinguished herself through performances as both a soloist and collaborative pianist, together with success in national and international competitions.
Sawako gained international recognition after winning Second Prize in the Piano Division of the Thomas & Evon Cooper International Competition (USA, 2025).
In Japan, she is a two-time winner of the Student Music Concours of Japan, receiving First Prize at both the 73rd and 78th National Competitions, where she was also awarded the Yokohama Citizens’ Prize (Audience Award). She is also the recipient of the 12th Yasuko Fukuda Scholarship and won First Prize together with three Special Prizes in the piano category of the Osaka International Music Competition.
In recent seasons, Sawako has presented solo and collaborative recitals at venues including Bechstein Centrum Hall and Yamaha Ginza Salon Concert Hall in Tokyo, and has been featured in the Speranza Concert Series presented by PTNA and the Fazioli Concert Grand Studio Concert Series.
She also appeared at La Folle Journée TOKYO 2026, performing a concerto in a chamber-orchestra arrangement with selected members of the Tacticart Orchestra. As a soloist, she has collaborated with orchestras including the Cleveland Orchestra and the Kakehashi Foundation Special Orchestra in Tokyo.
