Ryan Huang is a rising Canadian pianist, a Young Steinway Artist, and a Young Scholar of the Lang Lang International Music Foundation.
In 2026, at the age of 15, he became the first Canadian pianist to win First Prize in the Junior Division of the Cleveland International Piano Competition for Young Artists, also receiving the Audience Prize. That same year, he was named one of CBC Music’s “30 Hot Canadian Classical Musicians Under 30.”
In 2025, at the invitation of Lang Lang, he performed at Roy Thomson Hall in a concert celebrating the Toronto Symphony Orchestra’s 30th anniversary. In 2026, he performed Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Since making his debut at Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium at the age of seven, he has appeared on international stages with numerous orchestras, including the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra and the Wuhan Philharmonic Orchestra.
Ryan has been selected to participate in leading young artist programs across North America, including Morningside Music Bridge and the Aspen Music Festival and School. Beginning in the fall of 2026, he will attend the Pre-College Division of The Juilliard School.
He has also won top prizes at numerous international competitions, including the Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition for Children and Youth in Poland, the Jeune Chopin International Piano Competition in Switzerland, the Kaufman Music Center International Youth Piano Competition in the United States, and the Euregio Piano Award in Germany.
He currently studies with Dr. Michael Berkovsky and, alongside his performance career, remains actively involved in charity concerts and music education outreach for elementary school students.
