Jinsang Lee

Jinsang Lee, a pianist, drew international attention in 2009 when he became the first Asian to win the Géza Anda Competition in Zurich, Switzerland. He not only took the top prize but also swept all special awards for the first time in the competition's history, including the Schumann Prize, Mozart Prize, and the Audience Prize. Prior to this, he built his reputation on the global stage by winning the Cologne International Piano Competition in 2005 and the Hong Kong International Piano Competition in 2008.
He has been invited to perform with renowned orchestras such as the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, Bern Symphony Orchestra, Konzerthaus Orchestra Berlin, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, and the WDR Symphony Orchestra.
In Korea, he has collaborated with major orchestras, including the KBS Symphony Orchestra, Korean Symphony Orchestra, Bucheon Philharmonic, Gyeonggi Philharmonic, Busan Philharmonic, Incheon Philharmonic, Gwangju Symphony Orchestra, Ulsan Philharmonic, and Suwon Philharmonic. 
He has also performed at prestigious music festivals worldwide, including the Ruhr Piano Festival, Lucerne Festival, Menuhin Festival, Montreux Festival, Busoni Festival, Seoul Arts Center Orchestra Festival, Ernen Festival, Cervino Festival, and Hong Kong Joy of Music Festival.  
His performances have graced some of the most prominent concert venues, such as the Berlin Philharmonie, Konzerthaus Berlin, Konzerthaus Vienna, Tonhalle Zurich, Lucerne KKL, Meistersingerhalle Nuremberg, and the Louvre Museum in Paris.

His discography includes a live recording from the 2009 Géza Anda Competition, an album in 2011 featuring works by Hiller, Mendelssohn, and Chopin recorded on both historical and modern Steinway pianos, and a 2015 collection of Schumann sonatas. In 2017, he released an album of Georgy Sviridov's works with Beethoven Trio Bonn, followed by a complete Beethoven Trio collection in 2020, commemorating the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth.

After graduating from the Korea National University of Arts, Lee completed advanced performance degrees at the Cologne University of Music and the Mozarteum University Salzburg. Driven by a thirst for perfect sound, he trained under technician Stefan Knüpfer and studied piano mechanics at Steinway Austria. He even participated in the piano production process at the Steinway factory in Hamburg. Since 2015, he has been an active member of Beethoven Trio Bonn, and since 2018, he has been serving as a professor at the School of Music at the Korea National University of Arts.
